Troubled star Lindsay Lohan has vowed to quit Hollywood in a bid to stay clean from drugs, according to her father.

Michael Lohan reunited with his daughter earlier this month in Utah, where the Mean Girls star is seeking counselling at the Cirque Lodge treatment centre.

He says, "When we finally came face to face we just clung on to each other and did not stop crying for at least half an hour.

"Lindsay said, 'Daddy, I have done some terrible things and been addicted to drugs but please believe me I will never do drugs again. I hate Hollywood and I don't want to work there. I need a break and I am moving away. I will stop hanging around with the people that are bad for me.'"

"She said she does not want to live in Hollywood as that is where the evil in her life happens."

The pair haven't seen each other since Michael went to prison in New York after he was found guilty of driving while intoxicated and other charges two years ago.

Lindsay Lohan Wearing Alcohol Ankle Bracelet

Lindsay Lohan has a new fashion accessory - an ankle bracelet that monitors alcohol intake.

The actress checked out of rehab at the weekend after addressing her alcohol-related issues, but she has chosen to prove she intends to stay away from booze by monitoring her drinking.

Lohan will voluntarily wear the alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet for the foreseeable future, according to the actress' publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik.

In a statement, Sloane Zelnik says, "In part she is wearing the bracelet so there are no questions about her sobriety if she chooses to go dancing or dining in a place where alcohol is served."

"Lindsay is working hard on her sobriety and we are all supporting her."

Lohan checked into rehab centre Promises in Malibu, California at the end of May after she crashed her Mercedes Benz in Beverly Hills and was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Lindsay Lohan To Move Out of Her Apartment

In a trend that will hopefully continue indefinitely, Lindsay Lohan is making some serious adjustments to her old life to help ensure her sobriety. This time it’s her apartment.

Lindsay is reportedly moving out of her Sierra Towers apartment in the interest of changing her surroundings and staying off the bottle. And it’s the kind of decision that some say is essential if she wants to continue living a party-free existence.

"The Sierra Towers is party central. Lindsay has made the decision not to be around that when she gets out,” the source added.

Apparently the Sierra Towers have a reputation that is well-fueled by both current and former residents. Matthew Perry, Vincent Gallo, Cher, PJ Harvey, Evander Holyfield, Joan Collins, Peter Lawford, Fred Durst, Sidney Poitier, George Hamilton and David Geffen have all called the Towers home at one time or another.

But the Georgia Rule actress isn’t interested in contributing to the continual party atmosphere any longer. While she pursues treatment at Promises, her belongings have already been moved from the apartment to a new locale, more likely to help the actress/singer succeed in her new life ambition: sobriety.

Lindsay Lohan Marks 21st With Low-Key Family Bash

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was joined by her mother and siblings as she turned 21 in rehab on Monday.

The Mean Girls actress was charged with driving under the influence after smashing her car in Beverly Hills, California in May. She checked into rehab facility Promises shortly afterwards.

To celebrate her landmark birthday, Lohan took a break from her stay at the clinic to host a party at Courteney Cox's residence in Malibu, California.

She was joined by family and friends, including DJ Samantha Ronson, at the low-key bash.

Lohan called off her original plans for a two-day birthday celebration at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas shortly after checking into rehab.

Lindsay Lohan has been tipped to play Paris Hilton in a movie of her life.

The 'Mean Girls' actress, who is currently in Malibu's Promises rehab centre, could also be joined by Britney Spears on the project.

A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "There have already been negotiations with a major film company to make the Paris Hilton biopic with Lindsay Lohan playing Paris - with Britney Spears singing the soundtrack."

The three stars have previously been seen partying together.

Lindsay and Britney both entered rehab this year, while Paris was released from prison on Tuesday (26.06.07) after serving 23 days for driving with a suspended licence.

Lindsay Lohan Leaves Rehab To Workout

Troubled star Lindsay Lohan has been leaving her rehab facility on several occasions - to workout at her local gym.

The Mean Girls actress was criticized earlier this year when she repeatedly left her rehab program at Wonderland to make several personal outings - and she has already left the Malibu based rehab facility Promises three times to workout since she checked in last Monday.

A spokesperson for the rehab center confirmed to Access Hollywood the actress left the facility, saying, "Yes, Lindsay went to the gym."

However, the spokesperson refused to reveal whether trips away from the rehab center were allowed, only saying, "We keep our policies private."

Why Londsay Lohan & DJ Sam Was Fighting

Sources have revealed to TMZ what Lindsay Lohan and DJ Samantha Ronson were fighting about in the early morning post-partying-party hours -- before Lindsay confronted a Beverly Hills curb and was popped for DUI.

Our source, close to Ronson, says that while Lindsay was just revving up the party at Lindsay's condo in the wee hours of Saturday morning, Samantha was urging Lindsay to slow down, rest a bit, and save it for the long weekend. Apparently, Lohan didn't care for someone telling her what to do and the two had it out -- and Lindsay kept on partying.

The story then goes that Ronson stormed out, followed by an apologetic Lindsay -- leading to the accident. Oddly enough, Samantha, who's posted two blogs on her MySpace since the incident, has yet to address the events of the weekend. On a side note, both blogs were written just past 4:00 AM.

Lindsay Lohan Checks Back Into Rehab

Actress Lindsay Lohan checked into a California rehab facility accompanied by her lawyer this morning.

The 20-year-old, who was arrested for driving under the influence on Saturday after crashing her Mercedes in Beverly Hills, entered the Promises clinic in Malibu.

According to website TMZ.com, Lohan will be resident at the centre for 30 days and will partake in "a serious medical treatment program".

Earlier this year, Lohan received treatment at rehab clinic the Wonderland Center in Hollywood.

In an interview with Allure, Lindsay Lohan says she takes on the role of protector to her friends and family.

Lohan also discussed her quick stint in rehab, explaining that she doesn't plan to stop going out to clubs and partying and declaring, "That's my life!"

I think it's just better for me to lie low and get better." Huh? What happened to your not going to stop partying? Lay low? Yeah right, you know you're an attention whore.

Lindsay might be going a little nuts in the brain. Was she drunk during the interview? She's in no condition to be the protector. She doesn't even know why she went to rehab. C'mon now, if partying is your life, how could you not end up in rehab.

The 'Mean Girls' star - who is currently in Japan for a fashion shoot - is said to be more than just friends with DJ Samantha Ronson, who has accompanied her on her trip.

Lindsay Lohan's Dad Wants To Help Troubled Teens

Lindsay Lohan’s father has reportedly teamed up with actor Stephen Baldwin to help bring God to troubled teens. Michael Lohan became a born-again Christian while serving a prison sentence last year and is now an ordained minister.

Baldwin found religion years ago and has dedicated his life to helping kids battle substance abuse.

The two Christians have joined forces to help troubled teens at the Long Island Teen Challenge, and In Touch Weekly magazine claims the pair are planning a reality TV show about their endeavors.

How ironic, Lindsay has an alcohol problem, why isn't he reaching out to her. He needs to help his daughter with her father complex first. If he can't help his own daughter, how is he suppose to help other people's children. Is he trying to passively makeup for helping Lindsay?
