Madonna May Buy Malawi Orphanage

Pop icon Madonna has offered a helping hand to Malawian children by proposing to take over the orphanage where she adopted baby David Banda. The 48-year-old singer, who is currently in the African nation with 18-month-old Banda and 10-year-old daughter Lourdes, announced her ambitions during her visit to the Home of Hope in the village of Mchinji.

The Hung Up star says, "I might take over the orphanage because the pastor here is getting old and is about to retire. If Malawians will work hand in hand with me I will still help Malawi."

Madonna is also reportedly looking for a home in Malawi, where she hopes to spend up to a month each year in order to manage the various charity projects she has embarked on in the poverty-stricken country.

Madonna Going Trying To Adopt Again

Last year, Madonna and husband Guy Richie caused a furor when they got little David Banda from the poverty-stricken nation in an adoption some said was illegal. But It seems she's going to try to adopt again.

Sources close to Madonna say the pop queen is headed back to Malawi this weekend to look at adopting another baby.

"She's going to Africa on Saturday, and on Sunday her family will be one bigger," our spy predicted.

But her rep, Liz Rosenberg, said, "Madonna is going to Africa to continue her work with the Raising Malawi organization. She is overseeing the building of a children's health-care center. She is absolutely not adopting another baby."
