Victoria Beckham: David and I Are Stronger Than Ever

The Beckhams may be British tabloid royalty, but they're just starting to get big press stateside.

Soccer star David and Spice Girl wife Victoria are moving to Los Angeles this summer, a relocation so monumental that it's being captured by NBC cameras for a special airing July 16, Victoria Beckham: Coming to America.

Prior to the big move, the couple spoke to W Magazine and revealed an unrehearsed and open charm that's sure to earn them more fans in the U.S.

From learning to smile to dealing with scandal, the Beckhams are ready to take on Beverly Hills...together. Excerpts below:

On how they met:
DB: “I’m quite shy. I just sort of waved from the other side of the bar. I sort of said hello and then just went back to Manchester. I was quite upset and gutted.”
VB: "I didn’t really know who he was. I was never into football...He was always with his mom, dad and sister while a lot of the footballers were at the bar getting drunk. I could sense right from the start that David was a gentleman, and very family-oriented, which is important because I’m the same.”

On knowing their callings at an early age:
DB: “At school whenever the teachers asked, ‘What do you want to do when you’re older?’ I’d say, ‘I want to be a footballer.’ And they’d say, ‘No, what do you really want to do, for a job?’ But that was the only thing I ever wanted to do.”
VB:“Everything revolved around my dancing and singing lessons. I used to customize my school uniforms. I loved clothes, hair and makeup. I’ve always been a real girly girl.”

On Victoria's plans to win over Americans:
VB: “I think people are really going to see me for the first time. I think they have this impression that I’m this miserable cow who doesn’t smile. But I’m actually quite the opposite. When you’re out there, they’re trying to get pictures up your shirt, down your top...With all the flashes, it’s as much as you can do to just find your car. I’m going to try and smile more for America.”

On dealing with rumors that David had an affair three years ago:
VB: “I’m not going to lie. It was a really tough time. It was hard for our entire families...David and I got through it together. No one said marriage was going to be easy. Yes, there have been bumps along the road. But the fact is we’ve come out of everything we’ve been through stronger and happier. It’s even better now than when we were first married. After all these years, we can just come home and have a laugh together.”

David Beckham & Kate Moss Set To Become Godparents

David Beckham and Kate Moss are both set to become godparents to the same child.

The pair have agreed to be moral guardians to actress Davinia Taylor and sports agent Dave Gardner's newborn baby son Grey.

A source said: "Davinia and Dave knew as soon as Davinia was pregnant who they wanted for godparents.

"Davinia could hardly stop smiling when Dave and Kate agreed."

Beckham is friends with Gardner from their days at Manchester United and will meet baby Grey for the first time on Sunday (01.06.07)

Taylor is still in London's Portland Hospital after giving birth on Tuesday (26.06.07), and Moss is believed to have paid her a visit yesterday afternoon (27.06.07).

The source said: "Kate was desperate to see Davinia and her godson and is absolutely delighted about being a godmother."

Beckham was the best man at Gardner and Taylor's 2003 wedding, while his son Brooklyn was a page boy.

British actress Taylor has been friends with Moss for years after they both became part of the same trendy London social set.

Victoria Beckham 1st Major US TV Appearance On MTV

Victoria Beckham will make her first major US TV appearance at the MTV Movie Awards next month.

The former Spice Girl will join star’s including Cameron Diaz, Lindsay Lohan and Robbie Williams as she does her best to negotiate her way round presenting an award at the Gibson Theatre, California next month.

Beckham has also gushed about how much she is looking forward to moving to Los Angeles permanently this summer, telling The Mirror, “I'm very excited. David and the boys can't wait. We want to come tomorrow! We love it here."

Spice Girls Reunite For Christmas Single

Emma Bunton and Geri Haliwell part of the British girl band, Spice Girls, could hardly contain their joy as they emerged from a Brighton recording studio, hugging each other and laughing, last week.

The girls are hoping to grab this year’s prestigious UK Christmas number one and are delighted with the track they have chosen. Mel C is also said to have lay down her vocals for the track at the same studio.

The remaining band members Victoria Beckham and Mel B who are both currently in Los Angeles will reportedly travel to the UK to record their parts next month. The Spice Girls had three consecutive UK Christmas number ones at the height of their success. In 1996, ‘2 Become 1′ topped the charts, followed by ‘Too Much’ in 1997 and ‘Goodbye’ in 1998.

Last month, it was reported the band had been offered $2 million each to reunite for a Christmas concert after the former bandmates were overheard discussing plans to stage a comeback show during celebrations for Victoria’s husband David’s 32nd birthday.

David Beckham's Intense Security Precautions

David Beckham's security will be tightened to protect him from death threats when he moves to Los Angeles.

Concerns that the soccer star - who moves Stateside in the summer after signing a deal with Los Angeles Galaxy - could become a target for criminals have resulted in heightened safety precautions.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Security is the Beckhams' top priority. They'll cut absolutely no corners on this subject. Only the best will do, and then some."

"Los Angeles Galaxy have paid a lot of money for David. They will do everything to protect their asset."

David's new bosses are taking steps to ensure the stadium where he plays is ultra-secure. Metal detectors are being installed at every entrance.

David and wife Victoria, who have three sons, have reportedly hired a top security team to prepare for their new life in the US.

The family will have round-the-clock protection from a team of minders - which include former CIA operatives. And their new home will be kitted out with 'fortress-style' locks and alarms.

David Beckham splashed out $80,000 on wife Victoria's 33rd birthday.

The soccer superstar surprised Victoria with an overnight trip to Paris, spending $50,000 on a private jet and arranging private fittings with her favorite dress and shoe designers.

David, 31, packed her a bag filled with new clothes, including a pair of skinny jeans from her latest range.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Victoria thought she would have a really low-key birthday, just going for a Chinese meal with David and their boys.

"But when she woke up, David asked her to get in the car - he had already packed a bag full of clothes he'd bought for her.

"She was overwhelmed to see he'd even managed to get a pair of white skinny jeans from her new collection - she hadn't even seen a production sample so she had no idea how he managed it."

After arriving in the French capital, David took Victoria to Christian Louboutin and treated the former Spice Girl to a pair of $3,000 made-to-measure high heels.

The shopping spree continued at Victoria's favourite designer Azzedine Alaia, where the mother-of-three picked out a $14,000 custom-made dress.

David booked a $12,000-a-night suite at the luxurious Paris Ritz hotel, and ordered the room to be filled with Victoria's favorite flowers and champagne.

The couple finished the day at the exclusive Guy Savoy restaurant, after David splashed out $30,000 so they could dine in private.

Eva Longoria Really Loves The Beckhams

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria says she loves the Beckhams and can’t wait for the couple to move to LA.

Speaking to Heat magazine, Eva said the attention they receive at the moment wont die down when they make the move to the US. “They’re in the papers here every day,” she said. “I feel really bad for them because I know in London it’s pretty hard for them and I think it’s going to be pretty hard for them here as well.” Not that the Beckhams have ever lived in london, but we get her point.

“They’re so iconic and so famous and so beautiful and everything about them is so fascinating to people.” She continued.

Eva, also said she felt the Beckhams would enjoy their new home, and should make the most of it while they can:“They’re young and they’re beautiful so why not live life now. Live life to the fullest,” she adds. “I adore them. I think they are wonderful, wonderful people.”

Seems like Longoria may be battling with the Anthony's and Cruises for best friend status.

Victoria Beckham On Dancing With The Stars?

Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham may follow in the footsteps of fellow Brit Heather Mills after she was offered a spot on US talent show Dancing With The Stars.

Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice, will move to Los Angeles this summer (07) as her soccer-star husband David begins his contract with La Galaxy.

Beckham is reportedly taking the proposal "very seriously" as the media exposure is said to have enhanced Mills' reputation stateside.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "We are halfway through the series and it has been massive. A lot is down to Heather."

"We really want Victoria. She's not very popular right now, like Heather wasn't. That's why she'd be perfect."

"Also, she might get pals like Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez to watch her."

This is something I would like to see. I almost forgot she was a pop performer since she's always depicted as the "robot" nowadays. I want to see what she has left in her.

Jennfer Lopez Claims Victoria Beckham Is NOT A "ROBOT"

In an interview with Elle Magazine, Jennifer Lopez discussed her friendship with the Beckhams, and the porced, cracked, straight out of rehab, Britney Spears.

J. Lo spent quite a bit of time gushing about the former Spice Girl and her sense of style, it seems she may have found a new BFF in Victoria. “She’s such a sweetie” Jennifer added, “Her clothes are just amazing. She’s so stylish.”

That's not the best part, Jennifer then started going on about how "funny" Posh is...yes, you read it right, she's FUNNY: “the best thing about Victoria is that she’s got this really funny British sense of humour.” But isn't Victoria a robot? She has humor and even talks?

J. Lo also referred to David as "so sweet", continuing: "I’m very glad they’ve moved to LA. She’s a great girl.” Looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of the couples together. Maybe everyone will go nuts and have a party at Tom Cruise's house.

In the interview Jennifer also said that she really felt for Britney Spears following her stint in rehab: “I feel so sorry for her." she said. "The lifestyle just gets to you after a while” she said.

Liz Hurley has the most desirable body with Victoria Beckham trailing in 2nd, according to a survey of more than 5,000 British women.

The actress came top in a poll conducted by New Woman magazine, which asked its readers to vote for whose body they would most like to emulate.

New Woman editor Helen Johnston said the Estee Lauder model, who famously showed off her figure in a revealing Versace dress held together by safety pins, had the perfect shape.

"She is pencil-slim but still curvy, the ideal most women desperately want," she said.

"However, ordinary women can comfort themselves with the fact it is a 24-hour-a-day job, requires iron determination and probably very little food.

"For most of us, a body like Elizabeth Hurley's would require a lifetime of sacrifice."

Inside David & Victoria Beckham's 10th Anniversary

David Beckham treated wife Victoria to a romantic night in a hotel for their tenth anniversary.

The soccer star took Victoria to Manchester's five star Lowry Hotel after watching his former team Manchester United play at their home ground, Old Trafford.

David splashed out on dozens of white roses and handmade chocolates, and had a gourmet dinner delivered to their candle filled penthouse suite.

A source said: "You could tell how much he loves her by the way he whisked her straight through the lobby and up to their hotel suite.

"He also gave Victoria some diamond jewellery."
