Johnny Depp Says He Can't Compete With Spider-Man

Johnny Depp may wow millions of cinema goers with his role in the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy, but his children still prefer Spider-Man. The Hollywood hunk, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the swashbuckling franchise, has two children - Lily-Rose, 7; and Jack, 5; - and they are more interested in box office rival Spider-Man than their dad's films.

He says, "I'd get in and say (in Jack Sparrow voice) 'All right kids, everything all right?' And they'd say, 'Dad, come on, I'm watching Spider-Man.' Oh man, Spider-Man. My boy has gone into that full-on superhero phase. But I refuse to wear the tights."

Johnny Depp Felt Awkward Kissing Keira

Johnny Depp says kissing Keira Knightley was "awkward" - because she is so much younger than him.

The pair shared a smooch in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest', but Johnny, 43, found it difficult to pucker up to Keira, 22, because of the big age gap between the two stars.

He said in an interview with New magazine: "The smooches are always so awkward, especially because Keira and I have never been in that kind of situation together. She's, like, three and I'm a thousand!"

"We've known each other for a few years and suddenly it was, 'Are you ready for this?' And you just do it. It becomes more like a stunt in a way. She was a great sport about it."

Keira has previously revealed she begged director Gore Verbinski to add the kiss between Captain Jack Sparrow and her character Elizabeth Swann.

She said: "I was saying, 'Give me one kiss, just give me one kiss'.

"I got it and it was good, really good."

Johnny Depp is Surprised He Hasn't Been Fired from Musical

Johnny Depp has called Tim Burton crazy for casting him in new movie musical Sweeney Todd, because the heartthrob star can't sing. Depp is currently filming his role as the 'Demon Barber of Fleet Street' in a movie version of Stephen Sondheim's Broadway musical, due for release next January.

But the actor confesses he has a terrible singing voice.

He says, "Tim took a risk when he asked me to play Sweeney Todd because neither he nor I knew if I could sing when I accepted it.

"I went into the recording studio with a friend of mine to see if I could do it. My singing's not unlike the mating call of a rutting stag. It's a strange sound, but I haven't been fired yet."

Johnny Depp Says Kate Moss & Pete Are Great Together

Johnny Depp has urged the British press to stop hounding his former girlfriend Kate Moss and her new lover Pete Doherty - because they are "great together".

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star - who dated the supermodel in the mid-1990s - admits he wasn’t a good influence on her, but insists she and the troubled Babyshambles rocker are a good match.

He says, "I was not good for Kate. But she’s a strong girl and a great girl and very smart."

"Dragging her through the mud like that - they (the newspapers) are weird and two-faced. Let her be! I have never met Pete Doherty, but I think he has talent and he and Kate could be great together. She’s got a great brain on her and she’s a great mummy."

Moss is mother to four-year-old Lila Grace, whose father is media mogul Jefferson Hack.

Disney Invites Fans To Attend The Pirate's Of The Caribbean 3 Premiere

On May 19th at Disneyland Park, Pirates of the Caribbean fans can attend the star-studded World Premiere of Walt Disney Pictures’ Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Each ticket is $1,500, which will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America and Make-A-Wish International. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work.

Orlando Bloom Won't Be In The Next Pirates of the Caribbean

It appears that no-one has told Orlando Bloom about keeping the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise going for a fourth installment, adding to speculation that Bloom won't be signed to continue his role.

Disney are as keen as mustard to do it, and Johnny Depp is telling anyone who’ll listen that he’d like to reprise his part of ’Cap’n Jack’.

Bloom has been quoted by imdb.com as saying “they haven't said anything to me...so I guess I'm not coming back”.

Bloom may only be half-joking. Rumours have been rife since last year that Disney wants to cut costs if they’re to keep making the series, with Bloom being seen as the most expendable cast member.

Kiera Knightley and Depp are both seen as vital to the success of the films, however Bloom - who plays the hero – may be seen as surplus to requirements.
