David Beckham To Lecture At A Top US University

The soccer ace, who will join Los Angeles Galaxy this summer, has been invited to join a debate at the University of Southern California (USC).

The prestigious university wants David to tell students how soccer can change the world, and the 32-year-old is keen to accept the offer.

Professor Nicholas Cull, who is organizing the global seminar on the role of sport in diplomacy, said: "David Beckham is already part of the masters course taught here, as an example of the influence of athletes, so I am hoping that he will be able to address us at that seminar.

"People who don't follow football don't appreciate what a globally significant figure David Beckham is even now with his career in transition."
